Hmm...

Apparently, Marvel has left Capcom after a long series of great fighting games pairing their heroes against each other. Who shall replace Capcom, however? EA Games, that's who.

While I have the deepest of respect for EA Games, who have done good things such as Battlefield 1942, they just don't have the kind of lineup that Capcom had to offer. Who didn't like pitting heroes such as Spider Man and Captain America against heroes like Megaman and Jill Valentine? Now we'll face the even bigger joy of pitting said Spider Man and Captain America against.....um....World War II Soldier and Sim...

According to the president and CEO of EA Games; "It's a unique opportunity, partnering with Marvel, to bring their renowned superheroes into original video game environments, as well as providing us an opportunity to create new heroes that will live in games, comic books and other licensing or media opportunities that Marvel presents..."

Um, ok? Why the hell is Marvel signing a deal with a company that is now being forced to make games just for the sake of putting the starring characters in a Marvel vs. EA game!? If EA Games only needs characters for the fighting games, then that means one thing.....the games these "new heroes" star in will be half-assed piece of crap games that will only exist for the sake of getting the main characters name out! BAD IDEA MARVEL. Why don't you sign a deal with a company that already has heroes? Nintendo, Sony, Sega, the list goes on! I'd love to see a game where Mario takes on Spider Man, or the guy from Grand Theft Auto 3 against Venom.

Ugh....

Finally...

Right, I haven't posted in weeks, I know...

I cancelled my subscription to Star Wars Galaxies. I just wasn't having fun with it anymore. Plus I hadn't playyed in weeks, making paying for it pointless. I might play it again someday, maybe after they finally release that Space Expansion they always mention but never talk about.

I finally broke down and bought Horizons: Empires of Istaria a couple weeks ago. It is ok, but the lag is so bad even on cable internet that I find it unplayable at times. I cannot wait for my birthday, which is the 12th of this month by the way, on which I get the parts to build a computer with over 700 megs of RAM, 120 gig hard drive, etc. All I need know is good internet to go with it, as the new awesome machine will be at my weekly home, where the internet never gets higher than 28k and the phone compnay has installed DSL less than 100 feet from our home....

In other news, I have a D in Spanish II and my father was pissed. Granted I need at least 3 years of it to graduate, I don't understand how. My father has threatened to take away my internet, as if the D will instantly transform into an A and all will come from miles around to dance and rejoice.

I've been playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory a lot. It's a pretty fun game for something that was meant to be an expansion back but was dumped then released as a standalone FREE download. Maybe I oughta by the first Return to Castle Wolfenstein as well, it's pretty popular.

My father recently bought Diablo II. We used to play the original Diablo over our LAN sometimes, it was ok. The thing that bothers me is that my dad has no concept of online play. He never talks to the other players, helps them, anything. He even went so far as to make a private server just for himself to play. I ask him "Father, why dost though play alone online, when thine may doest the same offline without tieing up yon phone line?" Well, maybe it wasn't Exactly like that, but still. My father's only excuse for playing alone online, is that he wants to level the one character up. Ugh. Apparently if I'm on the internet more than 3 hours I'm endangering peoples lives because his coworkers can't call him up in his off time to ask the dumbest questions, yet he can sit there and play Diablo II half the day by himself like a loser and tie up the phone line. As for the game itself, I have not yet played it. I will eventually though, as my father is obsessed with the idea of getting me a copy and having us play together online when I'm at my mothers...

That's all I have for now, so just remember....My birthday is the 12th....of March.....2004.....
